Juan Ramos teaches Contract Drafting & Strategy for USC Gould School of Law’s online programs. Ramos has experience in transactional law, including corporate, contracts, real estate, and business law. Through his experience at premier law firms, as in-house counsel, as a contracts professor, and in his private practice, Ramos has advised clients and management on business issues, legal compliance matters and strategic initiatives.
In his private practice, Ramos advises clients on business matters such as corporate governance, entity formation, and due diligence. He represents clients in connection with structuring, negotiating and documenting commercial transactions. Ramos assists clients in reviewing corporate documents and legal agreements and advises them on strategic initiatives and business compliance issues. He also assists clients with due diligence in connection with business transactions.
As in-house counsel at a private company, Ramos provided senior executive management legal advice on company matters across various departments. His law firm experience included doing corporate work and practicing real estate law at premier law firms. Through his involvement as a board member in several nonprofits serving the community in which he was raised, Ramos uses his legal skills and experience to give back to the community. He is also a trustee of the Mexican American Bar Association and was previously a trustee of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and a City of Los Angeles commissioner.
Prior to law school, Ramos was an investment banking analyst on Wall Street in New York, where he gained an understanding of the business and finance side of transactions and combines such understanding in performing legal analysis and in making decisions that require an understanding of both law and business.
Before attending Stanford Law School, Ramos attended Harvard, where he received his BA in Economics.

Thomas Lenz was quoted on how the NFL's refusal to hire quarterback Colin Kaepernick, as well as safety Eric Reid may bolster Kaepernick's case against the NFL for conspiring to keep him out of the league because of his political views. “To the extent that someone else has some parallel activity, some similar involvement, it certainly cast suspicion [on what’s occurring in the NFL]," said Lenz. “It’s the sort of thing that, as the facts bear out, you have to wonder if there’s some sort of pattern going on. … It definitely warrants some inquiry.”
