Azadeh Gowharrizi began her legal career in the San Francisco office of a multinational law firm, where she specialized in corporate and securities litigation. Since moving back to Los Angeles, she has worked at a litigation firm focusing on complex business disputes. In addition to being a litigator, Gowharrizi is a certified mediator and regularly mediates high-conflict cases in Los Angeles Superior Court.

Gowharrizi earned her bachelor's degree summa cum laude from University of Southern California and her law degree from Stanford Law School, where she served as articles editor on the Stanford Law Review.

Re: Orin Kerr

Orin Kerr was cited for his recent editorial on his experience taking the California bar exam much later in life in order to practice law in another state. "It’s not like you can test lawyerly competence among 20 topics any better than with 10 topics," Kerr commented. "It just requires more time memorizing, and it’s not obvious what that has to do with lawyerly ability.”
