Peter K. Rosen received his JD from USC Gould School of Law. He is a partner in the Los Angeles office of Latham & Watkins and is a member of the litigation department. He is the global chair of the insurance coverage litigation practice. He represents insurance policyholders in matters involving commercial general liability policies, directors’ and officers' liability insurance policies, transactional liability insurance policies, environmental insurance, fidelity insurance, professional liability policies, property disputes, and surety bonds. Rosen was the lead lawyer for the retail leaseholder at the World Trade Center in the massive insurance coverage litigation arising out of the 9/11 attacks. His role in the World Trade Center insurance coverage litigation gained him worldwide recognition. Rosen's practice also includes counseling boards of directors and senior management on directors’ and officers' litigation, corporate governance issues, insurance strategies, indemnification agreements and bylaws. Since 2007, Rosen has taught insurance law as well as corporate governance at USC Gould. Rosen is as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) and a Fellow of the America College of Coverage and Extracontractual Counsel.

Orin Kerr was cited for his recent editorial on his experience taking the California bar exam much later in life in order to practice law in another state. "It’s not like you can test lawyerly competence among 20 topics any better than with 10 topics," Kerr commented. "It just requires more time memorizing, and it’s not obvious what that has to do with lawyerly ability.”
