Joseph Longo is approaching his third decade as a certified Major League Baseball agent. As president of Paragon Sports International LLC, he has represented 27 first round draft picks, 21 MLB All Stars, 21 Gold Glover and Silver Slugger award recipients, he has won landmark arbitration cases and negotiated record-breaking free agent deals. Moreover, he has been a practicing attorney for 30 years, with a long history of successful and vigorous representation.

He graduated from Brown University, where he was a starter on the Brown University football team. Longo later received his law degree from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles. He is a member of the Sports Lawyers Association, State Bar of California, Los Angeles County Bar Association, Beverly Hills Bar Association and The Wealth Counsel. He has served as an expert panelist at the Loyola Sports Law Institute: Collective Bargaining and Individual Contract Negotiation; the USC Gould School of Law: Entertainment Law and Business forum; and the State Bar of California Certified: Negotiation for Lawyers – Lessons from Baseball Salary Arbitration Cases. He also teaches Baseball Arbitration courses as an adjunct professor at Loyola Law School.

Franita Tolson was interviewed about how federal lawsuits from North Carolina, Alabama, and Arkansas test the limits of the Voting Rights Act, the boundaries of state government authority, and the ability of voting rights groups to file racial gerrymandering cases. “These doctrines and approaches in these cases fundamentally reset the rules of the game,” she said. “In 2030 we will live in a completely different world than we lived in in 2020, and 2020 was not favorable to minority voters at all.”
