The Legal Studies Minor provides an academic foundation in law for undergraduate students. The minor allows students to deepen their understanding of the U.S. legal system as a part of their bachelor's degree.

The curriculum includes a Fundamentals of the U.S. Legal System course in addition to an array of in-depth and real-world legal courses. Classes from the Economics, History, Philosophy and Political Science departments at USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences; and Price School of Public Policy are also a part of the curriculum to amplify legal studies with historical, societal and economic understanding.

The Law and Social Justice minor provides foundational knowledge of current legal systems of justice and encourages critical-analysis skills to recognize where and how changes can be made.

Existing legal structures have a profound effect on the distribution of power and resources in society. To move society toward more just outcomes can require understanding the current legal system, the forces that have shaped it, and available avenues for change. The Law and Social Justice Minor provides foundational knowledge of current legal systems of justice and with the critical-analysis skills to recognize where and how changes can be made. Further, it provides an interdisciplinary approach to the study of law and social justice with elective course choices from USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences; Annenberg for Communication and Journalism; and Dworak-Peck School of Social Work.

The Law and Migration Studies Minor introduces students to the U.S. legal system as it relates to various aspects of immigration law, its impact on our communities, and consequences for our society nationally and globally.

The curriculum in law and migration studies will allow students to familiarize themselves with many dynamic and complex concepts of immigration law and migration studies. Further, it provides an interdisciplinary approach to the study of law and migration with elective course choices from various departments within USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences and the Sol Price School of Public Policy.

The Law and Technology minor studies the intersection of technological developments and the legal system.

Students will examine contemporary issues raised by emerging technologies, including internet privacy, patent law, intellectual property and cybercrime. The Law and Technology minor requires a minimum of 18 units.
