USC Gould offers convenient, private, secure and fully furnished housing at a competitive monthly rate in a facility reserved exclusively for first-year law students. The Terrace Apartment complex offers you a community of fellow first-year law students to socialize and study with, as well as a resident faculty advisor who is USC Gould professor.
The complex has three floors of two-bedroom apartments, in which each resident has his or her own private bedroom. A gated garage is on the ground level, and many utilities are included in the monthly rent. The facility also includes a fully equipped recreation center, conference/study room and barbecue area.
Terrace also offers you a 10-month contract so you won't be locked into a full-year commitment.
Located north of the University Park Campus, Terrace is approximately a 15-minute walk to the law school. The university offers shuttle service that stops directly in front of the apartment complex.
To secure housing at the Terrace Apartment complex, you must apply by the deadline. Learn more about Terrace Housing.
If you're interested in learning about other residential areas in the city, explore Discover L.A.'s Neighborhoods. The USC student newspaper also publishes the Daily Trojan Housing Guide, which can help you locate another housing option near campus.
Commuting and Public Transportation
With our location near downtown Los Angeles, USC is well served by public transportation. The Metro Expo Line (light rail) is just steps from the front door of the law school, opening transit options from Santa Monica to the Union Station transportation hub in downtown Los Angeles. From Union Station, transit options abound. You can access the Metro Red or Purple lines (subway), which run from downtown to North Hollywood and Mid-Wilshire, respectively. Additionally, the Metrolink commuter rail offers convenient access into locales as close as Burbank and Glendale and as far as Orange County, San Bernardino, Riverside and Ventura.
Los Angeles also boasts the largest municipal bus system in the nation. Metro bus lines (MTA) and Commuter Express lines (LADOT) are available throughout the city.
The USC Transportation website provides up-to-date information on these and other options to help you plan your commute. You'll also find information on carpooling, Zimride — the university's private social network for ridesharing — as well as information on how to obtain a campus parking permit for your car if you will have one.
