Students in Professor Alex Ricciardulli's Criminal Law Motion Practice class examined witnesses on direct and cross, and presented oral arguments for suppression motions Feb. 23 in the Ackerman Courtroom. 2L Ben Karabian dressed as a police officer witness, taking the stand to describe the circumstances leading to arrest and withstanding a brutal cross-examination by a fellow classmate acting as defense counsel. Students in the class are presented weekly with actual police reports, criminal complaints and preliminary hearing transcripts from which their assignments are based.
