Gerontology and the Law Bibliography Series

This page provides links to the bibliographies included in the "Gerontology and the Law" bibliography series compiled by librarians at the USC Law Library. These bibliographies provide lists of citations to selected books, reports, articles, and documents focusing on legal, public policy, and law-related topics concerning the elderly and the aging process.

The first "Gerontology and the Law" bibliography was published in the Law Library Journal with later updates published in the Southern California Law Review.  The first bibliography includes an introduction entitled "Themes and Issues in Gerontology and Law" by USC Law Professor Martin Levine. Professor Levine was the main catalyst for this original bibliography, and the series has continued to the present day in large part through Professor Levine's sustained interest in and support for this project.

Each bibliography is organized similarly, though there are some differences between the various updates in terms of their coverage and organization. The latest updates are annotated (though generally more selective than the earlier ones).

The versions of the bibliographies that you will find here are identical to the originally published print versions and include the prefaces, acknowledgements, and tables of contents. Special thanks goes out to William S. Hein & Co., Inc. for allowing the USC Law Library to download its document files from HeinOnline and upload them on this web site.

All of the bibliographies are viewable in PDF format (Adobe Acrobat is required).
