Mona R. Shah

Mona R. Shah is an adjunct professor teaching Academic & Professional Skills For U.S. Law Studies I. Shah previously worked as a litigation attorney at the law firm of Wilson Elser Moskowitz Edelman & Dicker LLP where she specialized in employment and real estate. In addition, she has a wide range of experience in other practice areas including personal injury, construction defect, business & commercial litigation, and complex & class action litigation. Shah maintained an active trial practice, appearing in both state and federal court, as well as, before various administrative bodies. She also provided day to day counsel to a number of corporate and individual clients, providing them advice on legal and business issues. Shah also served as a mentor to junior attorneys within the firm. Most currently she also serves as a board member of the Asian Pacific Community Fund. She has been involved in numerous California Bar and minority bar associations, including serving as past president of the South Asian Bar Association of Southern California, and the Board of the South Asian Bar Association of North America.
In addition to her current practice, Shah also maintains an active mediation practice. Shah received her BA in Political Science from UC Irvine, and her JD from University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. She is a member of the California State Bar.

Jean Reisz was interviewed whether the city of Los Alamitos opting out of California's sanctuary state law serves as evidence that the law is in violation of federal law. "Whether or not Los Alamitos opted out, that's not evidence that these laws are in violation of federal law," said Reisz. "It's just showing the city isn't in support of it or doesn't want to follow it."
