Tomson T. Ong joins the faculty at USC Gould School of Law in 2016. He has been an Adjunct Professor of Public Policy at USC Price, and teaching at USC since 1989. Previously, he served as an Adjunct Professor of Business Law for Pepperdine University, and a senior faculty for the Attorney General’s Trial Advocacy Institute.

Ong is a three time graduate of USC:  BA, MA and PhD in Public Administration. He received his law degree from Loyola Law School, and his LLM in Taxation from USD School of Law. He served as a Fulbright Scholar during his post-doctoral studies, and was honored as a Distinguished Fulbright Lecturer.

Professionally, Ong has been a judge since 1997. He sits in the South District of Los Angeles County Superior Court. He previously served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney, Civil Division, in Los Angeles for a decade, and was a criminal prosecutor in the Santa Ana City Attorney’s Office for over three years.

Ong is a retired Lieutenant Colonel with the U.S. Army Reserves, Judge Advocate General’s Corps, with more than 20 years of service.

Abby Wood was quoted about the standard of acceptable behavior established by the Democratic Party. “I’m struck by where the Democrats drew this line. Suppose they had drawn it somewhere between the allegations against Rep. John Conyers and those against Sen. Franken,” Wood explained. “By requesting retirement from Conyers but continuing to work with Franken, the message would have been that women should simply learn to live with some level of sexual harassment and assault. Instead, they seem to have drawn a bold line: no unwanted touching of any kind is permissible, full stop.”
