Anthony Consoli is a founding partner of Massumi & Consoli LLP. Prior to founding MCLLP, he practiced with the private equity and M&A group of Kirkland & Ellis LLP in Los Angeles where he represented numerous private equity funds and their broad range of portfolio companies in complex transactions and, before that, with the corporate and securities group of Stradling Yocca Carlson & Rauth, P.C. in Newport Beach where he represented private equity funds and middle-market companies.

Consoli is also a lecturer in law of M&A Due Diligence at USC Gould School of Law.

Consoli received the Regents Scholarship from the UCLA where he earned a BA degree in History, summa cum laude. Consoli then received a Dean’s Merit Scholarship from UCLA School of Law where he earned his JD degree.

Consoli is licensed to practice law in the State of California.

Niels Frenzen was quoted on the lower evidentiary standard for arresting someone based on immigration status instead of a criminal act. The majority of immigration arrests in the United States are warrantless arrests, Frenzen said. "I don’t know if that is the case with this recent arrest in San Diego, but if CBP really had evidence that she was involved in a transnational human smuggling operation of some kind, that would definitely be a case where CBP would seek to criminally prosecute first and deport second," Frenzen said. "So the fact that CBP has arrested her on the civil law violations suggests that CBP does not have enough evidence to convince a judge to issue a criminal arrest warrant."
