Craig Cooper is the Chief Legal Officer and Senior Vice President for The Wonderful Company LLC and all of its affiliates, which employ over 7,800 people worldwide and have combined annual revenues of over $4 billion. The Wonderful Company’s businesses include, among others: Wonderful Orchards (nut farming); Wonderful Pistachios & Almonds (nut processing); Wonderful Citrus (citrus farming and processing, including the Halos brand); FIJI Water (imported bottled water); POM Wonderful (pomegranate farming and processing); Teleflora (floral wire service); JUSTIN Vineyards & Winery (wine); Landmark Vineyards (wine); Neptune Pacific Line (shipping); Suterra (biorational pest control); and Wonderful Real Estate (real estate).
Cooper leads a 70-person legal department, including over 40 lawyers, which handles all transactional, regulatory and litigation matters for all of The Wonderful Company’s businesses. Cooper also runs The Wonderful Company’s real estate property management division, family office, and human resources administration.
Before joining The Wonderful Company in 2002, Cooper was a partner in the corporate group of the law firm Loeb & Loeb in Los Angeles, where he spent two of his years primarily serving as outside counsel for The Wonderful Company and its affiliates. Cooper also worked for the law firms Orrick in Los Angeles and Kaye, Scholer in New York. At these firms, he handled work in a multitude of disciplines, including mergers and acquisitions, finance, bankruptcy, real estate, and general corporate transactions.
Cooper received his BS from USC in business administration (finance/real estate) and his JD magna cum laude from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law (Yeshiva University), where he was a supervising editor on the Cardozo Law Review. Cooper is a Lecturer in Law at the USC Gould School of Law, where he has been teaching for more than 10 years. Cooper also is a member of the Board of Directors of both Camp Ramah in California and the California Chamber of Commerce.
