Career Counselor Profiles

Elizabeth Armour
Associate Dean and Dean of Career Services

Elizabeth Armour is the Associate Dean and Dean of Career Services. Dean Armour is a national leader in the career services and legal recruitment arena, with extensive experience in both private law firms and private law schools. Prior to joining the USC Gould School of Law in 2014, Dean Armour served for over a decade as the leader of Boston University School of Law's Career Development Office, and was Director of Employer Relations at Suffolk University Law School. Further, she has led recruiting departments at several East Coast law firms. Dean Armour is a past president of NALP, twice served on its board of Directors, and has chaired and served on numerous NALP committees. She is also active in the Association of American Law Schools, having served on the Executive Board of the Student Services section and as a member of the Institutional Advancement section. A native of Oakland, California, Dean Armour holds an A.B. from Smith College. She is an avid italofile and sings with USC's University Chorus.




Rachel Kronick Rothbart, Esq.
Director

Rachel joined the Career Services Office at the end of 2009. She is responsible for counseling students, administers CSO's rich array of educational programming, and is the school's public sector careers specialist. Admitted to the state bars of Florida and California, she practiced family law at the Legal Aid Society in Miami, Florida and the Harriett Buhai Center for Family Law in Los Angeles, California. While at the Harriett Buhai Center for Family Law, she served as an attorney and Director of Legal Services, supervised volunteers and staff, revised the Center's handbook on domestic violence, gave presentations and conducted trainings, worked with public interest groups, and participated in the planning of local and statewide legal trainings. Rachel served on the Executive Committee for the Family Law Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association. Although a military brat during the early part of her life, Rachel calls Charleston, South Carolina her hometown because of her family's strong roots to the community. She earned a B.A. in politics and history from Brandeis University and her J.D. from University of Miami School of Law. When not at work, you can find her spending time with her family, walking around the neighborhood and collecting pens and stationery.




Ronald Han, Esq.
Assistant Director

Ron graduated from the University of California Berkeley and earned his J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center. Ron is responsible for counseling students and alumni in career planning and job search strategies, and for advising judicial clerkship candidates. Ron joined the Career Services Office in 2011 after serving as an Associate Director for the Career Development Office at Pepperdine University School of Law. Prior to that, Ron practiced as a litigation attorney representing a broad range of clients in state and federal court in the areas of intellectual property, complex commercial litigation, real estate, and labor and employment. Ron is a die-hard fan of the Los Angeles Clippers and the California Golden Bears, and a fan-in-law of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.




Lynn Yang, Esq.
Assistant Director

A native of Southern California, Lynn graduated as a Phi Beta Kappa member from Brown University with a degree in Economics and was selected as a Fulbright Scholar. She then went on to earn her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. Prior to joining the CSO in 2014, Lynn was an estate planning attorney where she assisted clients with estate planning, asset protection, probate and estate administration and, more recently, worked in-house with the real estate law department for the parent company of a premier restaurant group. Lynn serves as a resource for the students and alumni by providing guidance and counseling in their career development including JD Advantage opportunities. She assists students with the on-campus recruiting programs, interview preparation, cover letters, employer outreach and general career strategies and goals.




Andrea Chen Ayvazian, Esq.
Assistant Director

An alumna of USC Gould School of Law, Andrea returned to the law school in March 2016 to join the Career Services Office as Assistant Director. She counsels students in all aspects of their career development and job searches, and also advises candidates with their judicial clerkship applications. Prior to joining USC Gould, Andrea counseled students at Southwestern Law School, and before that, handled legal placement for the Los Angeles office of a national legal recruiting agency. She has also practiced family law for a non-profit law firm and represented small businesses in various civil litigation matters for a boutique law firm. She received her Bachelor of Arts in English from Pomona College in Claremont, CA, where she fell in love with Southern California after having grown up in Saudi Arabia. Andrea enjoys spending her free time with her family and loves having a great meal with friends.
